Introduction to Cobra - A PHP Data Manipulation Library
Interesting PHP library for data manipulation. Cobra is modeled after similar libraries found in other languages such as Pandas for Python, which I'm a huge fan of.
Cobra boasts DataFrame classes, Series, and DB classes among others in addition to PDO SQL connectivity.

There’s something rotten in the kingdom of Wordpress
Yeah, I'm afraid something stinks in WordPress too.
As much as I like the web's most used open-source CMS, and want to see it thrive, I won't say I'm 100% thrilled with the direction it's going.
Great write-up (let me know about the accompanying podcast - I didn’t get to listen to it, yet).
Laravel Create Virtual Database Column
Virtual columns have been available in MySQL for quite some time now. Virtual columns can be either STORED
or VIRTUAL
(which is the default).
This article covers how to create a Laravel migration with a Virtual Column on a MySQL table.

If you're in a loop you may implode
Another good tip for Laravel developers here from the Mastering Laravel newsletter.
Blade directives like @for
and @foreach
also have access to a $loop
variable while inside the particular loop.
While this variable is useful, in some circumstances it's not needed and you can lean more on in-built PHP functionality and other Eloquent collection methods.

CentOS Linux 7 Is End-Of-Life Next Week
In 2020 Red Hat began putting all development efforts into CentOS Stream. Therefore, End of Life for CentOS was really “End of Life”.
That time is now. As of June 30, 2024 (which is fast approaching).
