This week on the Digital Owl's Prose developer blog, I'm continuing with more content aimed to help anyone learn the basics of MySQL. I have so many articles planned out when I find the time to write them all.
In the meantime, Range-based Filtering With the BETWEEN Operator in MySQL is a must-read if you are filtering by a range of values in a query.
New eBook in my Kofi Shop 🏪
I've added a premium 11-page eBook to my Kofi shop. "CodeIgniter 4 Query Builder join() Method Explained", is your guide to understanding the different parameters and JOIN

I have curated some fantastic reads for you this week. Let’s get to them!
Know about Linux Input-Output Redirection
By: Suparna Ganguly
#linux
This article is all about Linux redirection, covering the 3 types:
stdin - standard input
stdout - standard output
stderr - standard error
One little trick I really like in Linux is redirecting a command's output to a file using '>' (or >> to append).
ADDING MULTIPLE COLUMNS IN A TABLE – MYSQL
By: SHAFI SHAIK
#mysql
This might not come up too often. But, when it does, it sure is handy to know how. I had this requirement not long ago for a MySQL summary table in one of my projects and wrote about it on my blog.
Top Laravel Twitter Accounts to Follow
By: Ashley Allen (discovered via the author's newsletter)
#laravel #php
Are you a Laravel developer?
Here is a massive list of Twitter accounts to follow if you're into Laravel.
Although I'm not (yet) a Laravel developer, there is a lot to learn from such a technical community of developers.
Therefore, I'm interested in Laravel content and find value in paying attention to this space.
5 Best WordPress Database Plugins 2022 (Free & Paid)
By: BetterStudio Blog
#wordpress
Database optimization and backups are crucial for any WordPress website. I've even heard a saying before that you're only as good as your best backup. 😜
One of these WordPress plugins should do the trick for you.
The Block Editor is a Page Builder, too
By: Brian Coords
#wordpress
You know, once I think about it, this is right. But on the other hand, although I'm quite familiar with the block editor, I don't think I've ever used it as a page builder.
Having only really used it for blog posts with Gutenberg, I should definitely explore it more as a builder.
Man, the WordPress landscape is a whirlpool.
Reverse an array in PHP by using recursion
By: Yongyao Yan
#php
There are a plethora of PHP array functions built into the language that you can do pretty much anything you can think of with.
However, this post revisits a more fundamental concept on recursion, which is essentially a function calling itself.
Nick Diego: Builder Basics – Working with Templates in Full Site Editing (Part 1) 🎥
By: Nick Diego
#wordpress
I don't typically share videos in the OpenLampTech newsletter (although I plan to more often in the future), but I'm including this Part 1 of a 3-part series I watched over on the WordPress(dot)tv site.
I really wish to learn the Full Site Editing (FSE) direction WordPress is taking and this is actually a video that I felt was definitely within my grasp as far as understanding.
