I’m focussing more and more on the Shopify e-Commerce platform to learn custom coding solutions and offer them as a freelancer in addition to WooCommerce services. Surprisingly, I see many questions in Shopify forums and Facebook groups about displaying a Product’s SKU. Here is one way I learned how…

MySQL Database Optimisation in Simple but Effective Way
In my opinion, most of this article's title words should not be in the same sentence lol. Because database optimization is anything but simple (for me at least). This stuff is art, folks. I felt like a champion once just putting some indexes on the correct columns in order to make one of my internal tool's webpage load quicker from the query that generated the data for it.
Powerful PHP Functions You Should Start Using Today
There is a function for anything in PHP. Great!
I honestly enjoy exploring and learning about new functions simply because they are so useful and time-saving. Visit those in this article and explore the ones you don't use that often.
In particular, any of the numerous array()
functions will surely help you with tasks involving them.

Eloquent ORM vs DB Query | Laravel
I'm not a Laravel developer but I do know from reading a lot of Laravel content, Eloquent is one powerful ORM. And, it seems to have pretty much any method you need to work with an SQL database. However, Laravel also supports raw queries for those use cases less suited for Eloquent. I'm thinking of reporting/reshaping queries involving Window Functions and specific grouping techniques.
How to Transform Neovim Into a Full-Fledged IDE on Linux
I'm being totally honest. Once you get used to Vim keybindings and use them a lot, it's hard not to use them. I enable Vim keybindings on whatever I can (i.e., Sublime Text, VS Code, etc.). I'm not 'up' on Neovim all that much but I imagine it's a great editor and an even better stand-in IDE when configured correctly.
And trust me, it's a lot easier to get it wrong than you think. Unlike other programming languages, you can have SQL wrong and not know it. Sure, syntax errors are gonna yell at you regardless. But, you can have your SQL completely wrong and it will execute just fine with no errors and return wrong data (because your query is wrong). SQL gives you just what you ask for so make sure you're asking correctly. I struggle with this all the time myself so I know first hand.
MariaDB CEO: People who want things free also want to have very nice vacations
A whole lot of this article is outside of my expertise (and interest). However, it has some unique points on the front of melding open-source (free) software with commercialization (and intent). The title of this piece is quite fitting.
