I’m more and more interested these days in learning small achievable e-Commerce customizations for Shopify and WooCommerce. Those I can research and implement a solution to in a reasonable amount of time. This article will cover how to append the product SKU (if it has one) to the product title in the Shopify Dawn theme.

Setting up Resource Limits on Users in MySQL
There is more to consider when creating a MySQL user than just the password and other defaults. Sure, the password is super important. But, so is limiting user resources so that there is enough MySQL to go around for everyone. Learn some best practices and know-how for resource settings like max_user_connections
and max_queries_per_hour
to name but a few (of the many covered).
How Guildenberg Hopes To Improve the WordPress Ecosystem
Fantastic Q&A written by the WP Minute with Guildenberg CEO Jonathan Wold. Guildenberg was born out of deep thinking and contemplation (by Wold) on the ecosystem as a whole, quoted here from the source:
"Ultimately, I reached the conclusion that product creators are the key to both growing our ecosystem and mitigating the tradeoffs of decentralization."
The rise and rise of the open-source RDBMS
Many cloud providers offer some form of hosted open-source database but none of them may have been earlier in the game than Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS has MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL to name the major players. There are many freedoms associated with open-source software (which is likely the foundation of the modern web as we know it). Less constricting and frictionless software licensing is just the topping on the cake of open-source software.

Introducing a brand-new product creation experience powered by Blocks (06-28-2023)
For better or worse, WooCommerce is changing up the product creation experience by moving to a more 'block-based' or 'block-like' interface. Powered by the Blocks API, but with some modifications, the new product creation process will likely be similar to other block workflows we are already seeing and using in WordPress. Hopefully, product creation will be more streamlined and intuitive with this new layout.
Open Web Manifesto published for Drupal, the world's most powerful open source software
Drupal’s Open Web Manifesto is its public declaration of what Drupal is, what it stands for, and most importantly, who Drupal is for. There is a link to the Manifesto within this article.
MariaDB Receives NYSE Continued Listing Standards Notice (06-30-2023)
It seems like one of the best open-source databases is struggling on the NYSE (sadly). What this means for MariaDB is anyone's guess. It likely means nothing at all. Hopefully, MariaDB can find a way to bring up its stock value in the next several weeks as it is still listed on the NYSE.

Everything you need to know about xmlrpc.php on WordPress: Why and how to disable it.
I swear I want to believe so bad that I have come across this file before. But, I won't swear to it. And, there is no way I'll pretend I know what the heck it is either.
Here is a quote from the supporting article on just what the xmlrpc.php
file is (for):
"XML-RPC is a protocol that allows software running on different operating systems and environments (Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, etc.) to communicate with each other over the Internet using a remote call procedure."
