Barn2Plugins, Patchstack, and WP Deals Diversify Beyond WordPress
Three companies working within the WordPress space are branching out into different areas. I personally think it is a good move to diversify.
I am building on my existing development skills to work in the Shopify ecosystem and also explore recurring revenue through the Partner program.

Running Drupal using Always Free Resources in Oracle Cloud
This may be a cost-effective way to get a Drupal site up and running. The Always Free Oracle Cloud Tier as one service, coupled with Drupal, which is open-source software, as a separate service, could be the winning combination.
Side note: According to the content in this article, MySQL HeatWave (or maybe a stripped-down version?) is available as part of the free OCI tier. Very interesting.

How to Add a Background Image Cover in WordPress β in 1 Minute
It's amazing how far along and simple things like this have come. From CSS to the block editor (which I'm guessing is setting some CSS or equivalent properties behind the scenes somewhere?).
What's even more amazing is how far along I have come personally from being block-headed (pun intended) to embracing, learning, and using Gutenberg and the block editor.

Jay Callicot on DrupalX, Decoupled Architectures, and the Future of Drupal Development
This article contains an Interview with the creator of DrupalX. I find mentioning outdated technologies - Twig and jQuery - quite interesting. I'm not versed enough in Drupal development to know any better about Twig.
I have a feeling that the jQuery reference isn't far off the mark (although I use it a lot too π ).
Quote from the source article for more details:
βTraditional Drupal is falling behind, relying on legacy technologies like jQuery and Twig that no longer meet the demands of modern development.β

MySQL Retrospective β MySQL 3.20
I love history. I photograph a lot of historic and old places in my home state of Louisiana, USA.
But, this is about MySQL.
MySQL has been around for a long time.
Years before I knew what MySQL (and Linux) were, MySQL (and Linux) was around.
Stroll down memory lane as one of MySQL's top evangelists reminisces about MySQL from version 3.20.
CakePHP Static Analyzer updates
I'm highlighting these CakePHP updates and summaries from the article:
Updated support for PHPStan/Psalm.
DisallowEntityArrayAccessRule: This rule disallow array access to entity in favor of object notation, making it easier to detect a wrong property and to refactor code.
Improvements for the IdeHelper plugin.
